Australian-American Danielle de Niese is known as a soprano among the cream of the opera elite and as a true performer on the stage. This year she joins the Tivoli Copenhagen Phil's new chief conductor, Toshiyuki Kamioka in Tivoli.

It's no coincidence that the programme is filled with Mozart's music. His operas and concert arias might have been written for Danielle de Niese; few singers can breathe new life into Mozart's flourishes the way she can, from the breeches role as the young man, Sesto, in Titus to the mature, disillusioned countess in The Marriage of Figaro. During the performance, opera aficionado Henrik Engelbrecht will tell us about Mozart, the music and Vienna in the Eighteenth Century.
